I am still acting like a tourist in Alaska and Ive been here since December 2012. There is so much to see and do here! The winters are hard but as I’ve said before the summers make it worth the wait. A few weeks ago I got to experience my first trip to an abandoned gold dredge out at Chatanika Alaska. It was spooky and so much FUN! There were places where even I was afraid to walk….

BERRIES FOR BERRY

Yesterday I found a great new hobby to enjoy with my friends and my pets!  Raspberry picking in the Alaskan brush.  A wonderful way to spend a summer day.  Its too bad the summers are so short up here.  There is just something about getting up in the morning and walking a few steps out the door for fresh, wild, sweet breakfast.  I love the feeling of free food 🙂  and whats better?!  They replenish the next day.  Thank you mother nature for healing me with your nectar 😉 20130725_163235

I am just minuets away from going to my first FoodStock.  It is a festival of music an charity.  The bands play for donations of food (canned goods) which is later donated to the local food bank!

FoodStock was fun!  Several local bands played.  I enjoyed listening to the old time music as well as some newer stuff.  I will try to get a list of all the bands that were playing.  I only attended for one day out of the three.  When I got in there I couldn’t find a place to put my art work.  Luck for me someone didnt show up for the weekend to claim their booth space and the Event Coordinater granded me a space to display my work.  Soon after I was set up I started getting viewers.  I sold two pieces in less than an hour!  The painting above is the painting I sold.  The other piece was built/created by Bill Berry.  You can check out his work at https://twitter.com/billsbrand
